Privacy policy
- Your videos stay on your phone. They are never uploaded.
- The swing analysis runs on the phone.
- Your account stores your analyses, focuses and the movement in your swings, so they follow you to a new phone. The data is stored in the EU.
- No ads, no tracking, and we don't sell data.
- You can delete your account and everything on it in the app, under Profile → Delete account.
Who is responsible
SwingLuck is made by Lucas Weibull, a private individual in Norway, who is the data controller for the personal data in the app.
Privacy questions:
What stays on your phone
- Your videos, whether you film them in the app or pick them from Photos. They are never uploaded. They only leave the phone if you share them yourself.
- The camera is used while you film. The app finds your body in the frames and analyses the swing on the phone.
- The microphone is used while you film, to hear whether the club struck the ball. The sound is not uploaded.
- The motion sensor is used while you film, to measure how much the phone leans.
What your account stores
So that your swings and focuses follow you between phones, your account stores:
- Your email address and how you sign in (an emailed code, Apple or Google).
- Your first name, which the app uses to greet you.
- For each swing: when it was filmed, the club, the analysis (measurements, the positions in the swing and what the app found), the movement in the swing as points for each body part (not images), whether the swing was uncertain or a practice swing, whether the sound suggested a strike, and how much the phone leaned.
- Your focuses: what you are working on, the goal, and when you started and finished.
Why
This information is only used to provide the service: to sign you in, to keep your swings and focuses, and to keep them the same on your phones. The legal basis is our agreement with you when you use the app (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
We don't use it for advertising, we don't sell it, and we only share it with the providers listed below.
Signing in with Apple and Google
- Apple: We receive your email address, or a relay address if you choose "Hide My Email", and your first name if you share it.
- Google: We only request basic profile information (openid, email, profile). We receive your name, email address and profile picture. The sign-in service stores them with your account, and the app uses your first name and email address. We don't use Google data for advertising, sell it, or use it to train AI models. SwingLuck's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Providers that process data for us
- Supabase: database and sign-in. The data is stored on servers in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden).
- Resend: sends the emails with sign-in codes, from the EU (Ireland).
- Apple and Google, only if you sign in with them.
- GitHub: hosts this website.
Supabase and Resend are US companies, but your data is stored in the EU.
